About

It is hard to talk about me, without talking about us!    The Seither Family.

John and I have been married for over twenty five years. From the day we said “I do”, it has been quite an adventure.  One of the biggest things people notice about our family is the size. Yes, there are six kids, proof that  God has a sense of humor. I tell people that ask if we are done with six. “No” I promptly reply. “We were done at four! But the last two were too cute to send back.”

At one point we had one kid in driver’s training and one in potty training. Crazy, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

We live in the Sierra Mountains where John runs a saw mill and I am a mom who writes and chases down missing homework assignments. John and I are both in the Moonlight Swing Big Band. It is a 21 piece Glenn Miller tribute band which performs in Northern California. I am one of the vocalists and have to say it is the funnest music I have ever done from a time period when women wore hats and gloves to the market.

Life is full of joy and expectation but there are  times of disappointments and unexpected change. That is just life.    One thing we know without a doubt is that God is faithful-today, tomorrow and forever.  His love is immeasurable, His grace unfathomable and His joy uncontainable.

“The Lord is my strength and my song: He has become my salvation.” Psalms 118:14

    Hi Marci,

Thanks for sharing your life with us. I see a message of hope on your family’s faces – the pictures on page 47 of GP touched me. I have lived in a Christian Community for over 40 years with an average population of about 175 people, teaching printing and transcribing.

You know, what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.

I’m really writing to say that your message touched my heart – I believe that those that are called are part of a great community of believers, the Body of Christ.

    Jack

Hi, just happened upon your blog. Are you folks in the St. Paul area? Looking forward to learning more about your ministry.

Hi Marci: Just found your blog after reading your story in May’s Guideposts. Great story by the way! And then to read that you live in Alta, CA. I live in Cedar Ridge, right next door to Grass Valley. I enjoyed reading your bio and then to hear that you and your husband are in the Moonlight Swing Big Band, I just love that group. We first heard you all at the Fly-in up at the Loma Rica Airpot many years ago. With the authentic costumes, big microphones, and the great singing, it was a memorable evening. I’ll keep checking back. God bless. Heidi Emmett
